KNOV

“De geboorte van een kind is ook de geboorte van een moeder. Zij heeft haar innerlijke kracht ontdekt.”

What does the KNOV Complaints Committee do?

The Complaints Committee can uphold or dismiss a complaint and, if so required, make the necessary recommendations to the obstetrician. As intended by law, the committee, where possible endeavours so not to juridify the complains procedure and to minimise the process to a maximum of four months.

The KNOV Complaints Committee:

  • Decides on the merits of the complaint
  • Makes a recommendation to the obstetrician
  • Handles the complaint independently
  • Applies the principles of hearing both sides of the argument
  • Has an obligation of secrecy
  • Does not rule in respect of the liability of the obstetrician or claims of compensation

You can read more about the KNOV Complaints Committee in the Annual Report of the Complaints Committee (2009).
