Development of the professional profile

The KNOV ensures that the professional profile continues to tie in with numerous developments of a general social nature, healthcare in general, in first line healthcare and in obstetrics. Examples thereof include the transition from offer-oriented to demand-driven care, new scientific insights and the translation thereof into policies, increased prevention and screening, the increased importance of the quality of care, the concentration of second line care and a reduction in specific female healthcare.

The professional profile was last reviewed in 2006, in conjunction with the Netherlands Institute for Care and Welfare.
