KNOV

“De geboorte van een kind is ook de geboorte van een moeder. Zij heeft haar innerlijke kracht ontdekt.”

KNOV

Who are we
Read about the general membership meeting, the Board, obstetric sections and the organisation of the bureau.

Our ambition
the KNOV aims to strengthen the independent position of obstetricians within the Dutch healthcare system. We are also continuously engaged in improving the quality of obstetric care.

What we do
Promotion of interests, quality assurance and international projects: the KNOV operates on multiple fronts. In addition, the KNOV offers services including recommendations, communication and complaint handling. The Magazine for Obstetricians is the trade journal in the field of obstetrics and related sciences and forum for discussions about obstetrics and related disciplines.

International
In addition to activities in the Netherlands, the KNOV is also involved in projects abroad. For example, the Sierra Leone Twinning Project was started in 2009.

History
The history of the KNOV dates back more than a century. The history of obstetrics dates of course even further back, as shown in the diary of Catharina Schrader, a seventeenth-century obstetrician.

Becoming a member
The KNOV promotes the interests of the occupational group as a legally recognised representative of its members, during negotiations on income and the market position in healthcare.
